The Hive mind is a collective consciousness, to which all drones in the Borg race are connected.
The Hive mind consists of advanced technological constituents. There are several components in the Hive
technology. Below I have specified the parts that makes this collective consciousness possible, after my
understanding of it.
The Borg Queen controls the Hive mind. She controls signals sent across a subspace domain,
similar to a transporter beam. These frequencies form the basis of the Borg's collective consciousness.
The Central Plexus is a device placed deep inside every Borg vessel. It links all Borg vessels to each other.
This link enables the drones on one vessel to hear the thoughts of the drones on another.
Every Borg vessel has a vinculum in its heart. It keeps the drones individuality suppressed. It works by
sending on a neural interlink frequency on the lower subspace bands. This signal integrates the minds of
the drones on the vessel.
Every section of a Borg vessel has several distribution nodes. They have the same function as the vinculum
but they have short range and only keep the drones connected to the Hive on the small section that is in range.
It would be a logical conclusion that the vinculum sends signals to the nodes, which passes them on to the drones.
Each drone has a Neuro transceiver that keeps the drone linked to the collective. It sends and receives signals from
the Hive mind. If this implant is destroyed, the drone can no longer hear the collective and has no
connection to the Hive mind.
