The Borg Queen is the leader of the Borg race. She controls every single
drone in the collective through the Hive Mind. She herself can choose to be an individual,
she is many and one at the same time. She lives in Unimatrix One in the Delta Quadrant
but have the freedom to travel to whatever location she like which she often does, for example
to aid an assimilation of special interest. She is also the
spokesperson of the Borg race. She is much like an ant or bee queen,
since she is the single force that is leading the collective toward its goal and keeps order
among millions or perhaps trillions of drones. But a insect queen would hardly let a difficult
opponent into its lair so the similarities are not complete.
The Borg Queen has an advanced anatomy. She is sometimes found with her limbs, head and torso
separated from each other and orderly placed in a special alcove that looks very different from
the ordinary drone alcoves. She can swiftly connect each part and be
in one piece again. Her body is mostly synthetic but her head and shoulders looks organic to
some extent but have some visible cybernetic implants. Though her head looks organic it is mostly
synthetic. Her spine is connected to her synthetic head and is compleatly synthetic.
The Borg Queen has been destroyed on several occasions. Somehow a destroyed Queen is always
replaced by another Queen. It is possible that more than one Queen exists at the same time
and one of them takes a dead Queens place but it might as well be a drone
that is transformed into a Queen. Perhaps we will know in the future, but at present time it
continues to be one of the Borg Queens mysteries. The last known time the Borg Queen were destroyed
was in an encounter with admiral Janeway. Janeway had travelled from the future to help U.S.S. Voyager
get home. She injected a pathogen into the Queen that killed the her and brought chaos into the
collective. It is not known how much damage the Borg collective took from this incident.
