The Borg Cube is the most common vessel used by the Borg. It is a standard patrol vessel used to search space for new vessels and technology worthy of assimilation. It is heavily armed and can analyse the opponents weapon systems and adapt offensive and defensive tactics within seconds. The Cube is built like a giant bee hive, it is very generalized. It has no specific bridge, command centre, engineering or living quarters. The Cube has a very large crew, sometimes more than a hundred thousand drones. A Cube can sustain a significant amount of damage, up to 78 %, before it ceases to be operational. Damages from direct phaser hits can be repaired almost immediately, whereas photon torpedos can cause damages that take a few hours to repair. The Cube is not repaired with physical labour. The drones combine forces by standing in their alcoves and with their minds linked together somehow causeing the vessel to regenerate and in this way repaire itself. This is another proof of the Borg effectiveness and efficiency.

The tactical cube is a variant of the ordinary Borg Cube with large armour plates on the exterior. These plates makes the cube less transparent and much more robust and is thus harder to destroy. This kind of vessel has only been encountered once by the Federation and at that time it was destroyed in a short civil war among the Borg.

The Sphere is similar to the Borg Cube, it is partly covered by a dark metallic alloy. As with the Cube the outer hull is partial, which makes it's glowing interior somewhat visible. The Sphere is much smaller than the Cube, it's only 500-700 metres in diameter. This vessel is stationed inside the Borg Cube and can be sent out through a central hatch. It is often used in reconnaissance missions. It cannot withstand the same fire power as the Borg Cube and is thus easier to destroy.

The Borg Probe is a much smaller ship than both the Cube and the Sphere. It is built in the same manner as the other vessels and therefore you can also on the Probe se the green glow of the ships interior. Its shape is flat and rectangular and is thus easy to distinguish form the other Borg vessels. It is only half the size of a intrepid-class federation star ship but it has as much firepower.

The Borg Queens vessel holds the lair of the Borg Queen and is often docked in the gigantic complex called Unimatrix One - also known as the home of the Borg Queen . It is the most specialized vessel that the Borg have constructed. It is diamond shaped with a sphere shaped inner chamber. The vessel is small compared to the other Borg vessels but is a very important one. This vessel provides effective protection, from where the Borg Queen can link up to the collective through the Hive Mind and control and coordinate the thoughts and actions of the billions or even trillions of drones that exist within the Borg collective.

This vessel has only been encountered once by the Federation, it was when Captain Picard sent an away team to investigate a destroyed Borg vessel on a moon in the Argolis cluster. This type of vessel has not been seen since. It is very small and has a crew of only five drones. It is cube shaped but much smaller than the Borg Cube. Its mass is 2.5 million metric tons and is thus the smallest known Borg vessel.
